The Descent

I arrive back to camp to hear two facts…45-knots of wind predicted tomorrow & the polar bear is back (on F-PAD) right now (which I just left for the day shift change), which has been evacuated again !!!  On a separate note, it will be interesting as we try to preserve the fleet of boats tomorrow – I aspire to anchor right behind the barrier islands as its supposed to be from the north-east with perhaps gusts to 50-knots on the frigid Beaufort Sea.  The same polar bear now on F-Pad was two miles from our camp headed our way earlier today and they were on the barrier islands where we might anchor just a week ago eating a whale that had washed up – the beat goes on in the Arctic – its not over till its over – temperature dropping fast here with snow predicted in the next two days…
